Humming and its Healthy Benefits
Humming for Good Health
The old saying 'the best things in life are free' certainly applies to the practice of humming. Some even describe humming as a form of therapeutic sound medicine. And all the benefits are free and readily available.
Everyone can do it - in fact, you can start right now, as you are reading this you can smoothly hum the words.
What are the benefits?
- Humming is similar to the traditional practice of chanting which, in turn, causes sound waves and vibrations to create a circuit of energy in the body and works to revitalize cells.
- Humming improves sinusitis - In fact many people suffer from sinus diseases and as a result are plagued by chronic fatigue. Humming improves the flow of nitric oxide which aids in effective sinus function. Humming will also clear blockages. By taking the time to hum, you may help or prevent sinus problems.
- Humming helps relieve physical stress and will soothe muscles in the face, head, neck and shoulders.
- Humming reduces emotional stress by reducing the number of thoughts in your head and helps with clarity of thinking. Humming tends to make you focus which is a good thing.
- Humming will significantly reduce the rate of breathing thus slowing down your heart rate which helps bring down your stress level.
- Humming calms your nervous system.
- Humming helps reduce insomnia.
- Humming helps lower blood pressure.
